USPS is very good about making sure that we know that we need to get any package out the door a week before the holiday, for shipping within the United States. At Christmastime, they recommend allowing 3 weeks for international delivery. (I don't know if that shrinks during less busy times of the year, but that's my mental note: 3 weeks for anywhere outside the US.)
