Our tagline affirms "You deserve a ten minute treat"; it's the premise behind This Charming Candy and it's why we love hard candy so much. All you need to do to enter the drawing is leave a comment answering the question: Why do you deserve a ten minute treat? You could tell us about a kind thing you recently did for someone, or name something that you like about yourself or that others think is charming about you... you get the idea.

Introducing The Birthday Club

We’ve recently begun offering a twist on our gourmet lollipop subscriptions. So far, all of our subscription plans have assumed you’re sending lollipops to a single address. No more!

The Birthday Club invites you to choose up to four recipients of a dozen naturally gluten-free lollipops throughout the year. When you check out, enter the names & addresses and their birthdays, and we’ll take care of the rest!

By default, we’ll send each person a dozen of our wildly popular Birthday Cake flavored lollipops but you can specify whichever flavors you’d like to share with your loved ones. Maybe your sister’s a fan of Salted Caramel, your dad prefers Root Beer Float and your college roommate loves Tart Pluot. No problem! All you have to do is ask.

Best of all? By buying for four different people at once, you save $10 versus buying a dozen lollipops four times throughout the year. And you can cross a few gift-giving occasions off your list at once. Woo!

Pretty Cards by REDSTARink

We try to keep things charming, here at This Charming Candy. One of the ways we strive to do this is by including a brief handwritten note on a handmade card when we mail candy to our monthly subscribers.

Not being all that talented in the handmade cards arena, however, we enjoy supporting other crafters who do possess such talents. Browsing Etsy, we recently discovered REDSTARink, a shop in San Diego that makes paper goods in striking, modern designs. Just look at these gorgeous cards:

Subscribe & Save—Lollipop Delivery

One of the most rockin’ items we offer is six months of lollipop delivery – in which you receive six lollipop collections for the price of five. About half of the candy subscriptions we’ve sold have been gifts, confirming what we suspected to be true: our customers are awesome, thoughtful, and generous :-)

Whether the subscription is a gift or not, I always handwrite a little note each month to say hi, introduce the lollipop flavors, and remind the recipient of which month of the six they’re receiving. Right now I’m weaning myself off mass-produced cards and transitioning to cards created by our artistic colleagues in the handmade community.

I’ve got a few lovely cards made from vintage wallpaper by Sydney Designs, and I was thrilled to get these sweet cards featuring an image of the vintage Atari joystick, by Rakkadeer, among my Schoolhouse Craft conference swag:

Mother's Day Gift Idea: Salted Caramel Lollipops

Yesterday's post about our Lollipop Collection of the Month assumes that your mom hasn't tried our lollipops. Maybe she has. Maybe she's got a favorite flavor, and quite likely that flavor is Salted Caramel. Maybe she'd like 4 dozen Salted Caramel lollipops spread out around the year, one on mother's day and one on her birthday and another on Christmas and another one on some other day that only she (and you) knows about.

Mother's Day Gift Idea: Lollipop Collection of the Month

Did your mom always have candy around the house while you were growing up? (Or maybe other sweets - I'm personally a big cookie fan.) Was she always trying a new sweet shop or a new bakery to see how their cakes and candies tasted?

If so, one of our monthly subscriptions might be the Mother's Day present you're looking for. We'll send a different collection of our lollipops each month for 6 months. That way, she'll get to satisfy her sweet tooth and try all our flavors without being overwhelmed by getting all our flavors at once. We know of at least one mom who's bought the subscription for herself for just those reasons!
