Behind the Photo Shoot, Part 1

From time to time, we like to describe our photography set ups. See how relatively primitive our 2009 process was, compared to our April 2011 and October 2011 sessions... Truly, no two photo shoots are alike. We keep evolving our techniques and we believe it’s reflected in the increasing beauty and quality of our photos.

Anyway, in that October 2011 session, we started using white poster board to reflect light back on to our lollipops. It enabled us to obtain awesome shots such as this pile of Salted Caramel lollipops:

This time around, we continued experimenting with the poster board by laying it down on the table and creating vertical and horizontal white surfaces:

We also tried some nearly overhead photos, as shown in these next two pictures. Kevin got up on a stepstool and extended the tripod legs as long as they would go:

Keep watching the blog for more pictures and more behind-the-scenes from this session! If you’ve been along for the past couple of years with us, we’d love to know what you think about how our photos have changed over time.
